Baby Must Haves
Baby Must Haves
Through much trial and error these are my favorite things for you and baby!
Sleeping Baby
-- Babybjorn Bouncer -- Good chair for baby to hang out in. We keep one in our sun room. It also folds really easily making it nice to travel with so there's somewhere for baby to hang.
-- Nanit Camera -- We like it and it's easy to travel with. Nice to know the temp and humidity of the nursery. We don't use the breathing monitor functionality though so you might get away with something cheaper.
-- Charle Crane Seat -- The most beautiful baby seat. We keep it in our living room and she has so much fun sitting in it and keeping herself entertained. We never had something that moved on it's own (like a Mamaroo) and she's been really content without it.
-- Hatch Sleep -- Best white noise machine, also a nice night light and clock. You won't need this in your room if you use the Snoo because the Snoo has it's own white noise, but it's nice for the nursery once they move into their crib.
-- Newton Sheets -- Get the sheets that go with your mattress to make sure they fit well. I love these because they are super breathable and work nicely with the Newton.
-- Oilo Flynn Recliner Glider -- This was the best purchase. Make sure whatever you get has power recline. You'll spend a lot of time in this chair, especially if you're breastfeeding so it's worth investing in.
-- Clip on light -- Get this and clip it onto your changing table for nighttime changes. This way you don't have to turn the light on all the way and can instead have this soft light but still see what you're doing.

-- Bassinet -- Most beautiful bassinet. Heirloom quality.
-- Newton Mattress -- Breathable mattress that you can easily clean. I love it and can't recommend it enough. Will give you HUGE peace of mind when baby starts sleeping in their crib and rolls onto their belly (or on their face in the case of Iris).

-- Hyacinth Basket -- Fit perfectly under the changing table I bought. I use one for diapers, one for wipes, one for random creams/first aid stuff, one for onesies and the other for bibs. You'll want stuff that is easy to grab while changing the baby.
-- Kalon Crib -- Beautiful handmade crib. If this isn't your style, make sure whatever you buy is greenguard certified. On the pricer side so see if you can get it on FB Marketplace.
-- Natural Changing Table -- Love this changing table. Get the 34X21 size so that you can fit a Keekaroo on the top of it. On the sides of the Keekaroo you can keep your most used lotions, wipes, etc. There's lots of great room underneath as well for clothing, diapers, etc.
-- Baby Holder -- I got this instead of a doc-a-tot because I liked the way it was made. All organic and also breathable. Used this a lot.
-- Diaper Pale -- Keeps your nursery smelling fresh.
-- Diaper Pale Bags --
-- Snoo -- You don't need it but it's nice for sleep training when it comes to naps.
Feeding Baby
-- Baby Brezza SuperFast Sterilizer Dryer -- Sterilizes and dries everything in ten minutes. You can fit a lot in it and it's very straightforward to use.
-- OXO Bottle Brush --

-- Inglesina Clip in High Chair -- We haven't used this a lot yet but will be great for clipping onto the counter or using it on the go.
-- Como Tomo Bottles -- By far our favorite bottles. We tried them all and these were the only ones Iris wanted to drink out of. They're also so much easier to clean than others.
-- Bottle Basin -- Really great for on the go because it folds so easily, but I also like to fill it up with soapy water and just throw rinsed bottles in there throughout the day before loading them all into the dishwasher at night.
-- Stokke Newborn Seat -- Great for the first handful of months before they can sit up on their own. We had this at the table with us while we ate or in the kitchen while we cooked.
-- Elvie Pump -- Nice when you're on the go and want to be discreet. That said, it doesn't work as efficiently as the Spectra so I find myself using that way more.
-- Dapple Bottle Soap --
-- Stokke Tripp Trapp High Chair -- Grows with your baby so they can use it for years which I like. Looks really pretty in person.
-- Maymom Extra Pump Parts -- Get a second set of pump parts to have on hand. Make sure you get your correct size Falange (maybe wait until after baby to order your second set once you know your size)
-- Spectra S1 Pump -- Get the spectra through Babylist. You just fill out a form and they will coordinate with your insurance to get you a free pump. Get the S1 - it's portable and doesn't have to be plugged in all the time which is huge.
-- Breastmilk Storage Bags --
-- Tubby Todd Nipple Balm -- Tried a bunch and found this to be the most effective and cleanest ingredients. Always put it on before you pump!
-- Munchkin Dishwasher Basket -- Keep on the top rack of your dishwasher for pump parts, bottle nipples, etc.
-- Haaka Milk Collector -- Helpful during the early days when you might have a little leakage.
-- Haaka colostrum collector -- I wish I had collected colostrum before going to the hospital. If you're able to, I would do it and collect it in these and bring them to the hospital with you. If you're not then I'd skip them.
-- Best Burb Cloths -- Love the Green Sprouts brand. Both these burp cloths and bibs are great.
-- Green Sprouts Bibs --
-- Dr Browns Formula Mixer -- I've been using these to collect daily pumped breast milk since going back to work and then pouring from here into bottles.
-- Dr. Brown’s Travel Formula Dispenser -- Unlike breastmilk which you keep cold in a bottle ready to go, you mix formula at the moment you're ready to feed. So you won't travel around with a pre-made formula bottle. Having this dispenser comes in handy so all you have to do is fill the bottle w/ water before you leave the house.
-- Baby Scale -- You don't need this but it was helpful for me to know how much she was getting during different breastfeeding sessions.
-- Vitamin D Drops -- Your doctor will have you get Vitamin D drops if you're exclusively breastfeeding. These are a good clean option.
-- Breastfeeding Pillow -- I didn't end up using this quite as much as I thought I would but people go crazy for it.
-- Evivo Probiotic -- After a few months Iris started to have some weird stool patterns - this probitoic was very helpful getting her back regular.
-- Kendamil Organic Formula -- Kind of a pain to have to order from the UK but honestly this stuff is worth it. The US Kendamil is not organic, the UK stuff is.
Cleaning Baby
-- Frida Nail Files -- Bring one of these to the hospital w/ you! Easy and not scary to use even when they're super small.
-- Friday Cradle Cap Brush --
-- Frida Rinser --
-- Water Wipes -- Don't splurge on the Coterie wipes - these are just as good.
-- Keekaroo -- Best changing pad. It's going to get dirty a lot and this is very easy to wipe clean.
-- Coterie Diapers -- Worth the $$. I tried other brands and they always resulted in diaper rash. Would recommend going w/ these from the start.
-- Mustela Micellar Water -- The best! Great way to keep them clean in between baths. Also really good for baby acne.
-- Mustela Hydra Bebe Lotion -- It goes on so easily and smells like heaven. I put this all over Iris every night after her bath.
-- Quince Baby Towels -- Don't get anything fancier than this. They will get dirty and stained.
-- Tubby Todd All Over Lotion -- Good for body and face. I use it mostly on the face and stick to the Mustela for body.
-- Grownsy Nasal Aspirator -- Your baby will have boogies and this is the best way to get them out. Def skip the Friday snot sucker thing, it's awful. This is easy and gentle. Use with saline drops.
-- Tubby Todd Diaper Cream -- Favorite diaper cream and I have tried them ALL.
-- Puj Sink Bathtub -- Absolutely the best. Sink tubs are ideal after having the baby because it's hard to bend over. I had the Frida one and it got moldy. This one is so much nicer/studier but also folds easy for travel.
-- Mustela Cradle Cap Shampoo -- Our go-to shampoo.
-- Pipette Baby Soap -- We use this soap on her body, but it also can be used as shampoo. No scent which I like.
-- Little Remedies Saline Drops -- Get drops not the mist for babies. One drop in each nostril before cleaning to keep nasal passageways clear.
On-the-Go Baby
-- Artipoppe Baby Carrier -- Obviously this is a huge splurge, but I do love ours. It was better when she got to be closer to 10 lbs. Although you can use it earlier, I didn't.
-- Lotus Travel Crib -- The most compact travel crib option. Folds up so easily and becomes really small. I also like that you attach the sheet to the mattress via clips making it stay snug even if baby moves around a lot.
-- Bugaboo Donkey 3 Stroller -- Love this stroller - was perfect for when we just had one and now great for two. Collapses to either work with one seat or two. If you want more than one kid, get this. Don't get caught up in the new versions vs old versions - they're all the same.
-- Bugaboo Turtle Air by Nuna Car Seat -- This carseat is compatible with our Bugaboo Fox 5 stroller. I love that we can transfer her carseat from the car to the base of the stroller really easy. Whatever stroller/carseat combo you get make sure they're compatible. People also LOVE the Doona if you're living in a city and in and out of Ubers.
-- Portable Bottle Brush Set -- Super easy for when you're on the go and need to wash bottles or pump parts. I like that it has a small soap dispenser that you can add your bottle soap to.
-- Storq Cooler Bag -- Small cooler bag that is so easy to throw into your bigger bag but still holds three bottles. Also amazing to commute with if you're pumping because it's so compact.
-- Pump Wipes -- I use these when I'm on the go for cleaning off teething toys. She doesn't really use pacifiers but if she did I feel like I would use these to clean those as well.
-- Medela Sterilizer Bags -- I use these when I'm traveling to sterilize pump parts/bottles every few days. Good to also keep a few in places you frequent (i.e. parents' houses)
-- Yogasleep Portable White Noise -- Great to keep on their carseat or stroller so you have white noise on the go. I also use this for her pack and play while we travel.
-- Messy Eater Stain Treater -- Clean ingredients and does a great job getting out stains. Small enough that you can keep one with you in your diaper bag.
-- Changing Pad -- Favorite changing pad when on the go.
-- ToteSavvy Small -- Good when you're just going to run out for an hour and need only the essentials. I keep it stocked and ready to go.
-- ToteSavvy Original -- LOVE this instead of a traditional diaper bag. I keep it in a Large LL Bean Boat Bag most of the time and it's just the best. Holds everything.
-- Stroller Fan -- Good to have on hot days. I attach to the car seat in the car, stroller when we're walking, or even on her travel crib.
-- Car Mirror -- This way you can see how baby is doing from your rearview mirror.
Playful Baby
-- Carrot Teether -- Great once baby starts teething.
-- Lovevery Subscription Boxes -- They send you boxes based on baby's age. Along with the toys is a little booklet that teaches you how to use them and explains where your baby is at developmentally. I love them.
-- Lovevery Play Mat -- BEST play mat - so great for all different ages/phases.
-- Bubble Tree Bubbles -- Best, clean bubbles. Really fun to play with once your baby gets a little older (closer to 6 mo).
-- Jellycat Stuffies -- Softest Stuffed Animals. We got a bunch of fruits/veggies and a few cute animals that she loves.
-- Nuby Teether -- Another good silicon teether.
